Material Overview

Our thickest magnetic material, designed for customers who need a durable, reusable graphic without using adhesives. The flexible magnetic construction installs quickly on compatible steel surfaces and removes just as easily, making it ideal for temporary vehicle graphics, equipment identification, retail displays, and promotional signage.

The 30 mil thickness provides an excellent balance of holding strength, flexibility, and durability. Its matte printable surface produces vibrant full-color graphics while remaining easy to handle during installation. Because the material contains no adhesive, it can be removed and reused repeatedly without leaving residue behind.

Magnetic sheeting performs best on flat steel surfaces. It is not compatible with aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, or other non-ferrous materials, making our Reusable Vehicle Graphics a better choice for those applications.

For vehicle graphics, magnetic signs should be removed regularly so both the magnet and vehicle surface can be cleaned. This helps prevent trapped moisture and uneven paint fading beneath the magnet during long-term use.

Helpful Info

Helpful tips, recommendations, and best practices to get the most from this material before, during, and after installation.
  • Magnetic material only adheres to steel surfaces—it will not stick to aluminum, fiberglass, stainless steel, or plastic.
  • Clean both the vehicle surface and the back of the magnet before installation.
  • Remove vehicle magnets daily (or at least regularly) to clean away trapped dirt and moisture.
  • Store magnets flat whenever possible to maintain their shape.
  • Avoid placing magnets over body seams, trim, moldings, or deep contours.
  • Rounded corners help reduce wind lift and improve long-term performance.

FAQ

Answers to questions about this material, compatibility, durability, installation, and applications

The easiest way is to use a household magnet. If it firmly sticks to the panel where you plan to install the graphic, magnetic signs will work. If it doesn’t, the panel is likely aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, or another non-magnetic material.

No. Magnetic sheeting only adheres to ferrous (steel) surfaces. Many modern vehicles use aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, or composite body panels that are not magnetic. For those vehicles, we recommend our Reusable Vehicle Graphics as an excellent reusable alternative.

We don’t recommend it. Remove the magnet regularly to clean both the vehicle and the back of the magnet. Dirt and moisture trapped underneath can affect the vehicle finish over time, and prolonged exposure may cause uneven fading of the surrounding paint.

Yes. Magnetic signs are designed for repeated installation and removal. When properly cared for and stored flat, they can provide years of reliable service.

Minor curves are generally acceptable, but magnetic material performs best on relatively flat steel panels with full surface contact. It should not bridge body lines, trim pieces, or heavily contoured vehicle panels.
