Ghosting

What is Ghosting?

Ghosting refers to the ability to see something after a product has been removed. There are two types of ghosting which are referenced below.

Vinyl Products

One type of ghosting is when vinyl products (shape or lettering vinyl) are physically removed from a surface, and some ghosting still being present. This is mainly due to adhesive residue, sun exposure, dirt, etc. On most surfaces, this can be removed with cleaners (specific for ghosting removal) or in worst-case scenarios buffing tools.

Dry Erase

The other type is when dry erase markers are erased from our dry erase over-laminate film products. The longer a marker has been on a surface the harder it is to erase completely. Refer to our dry erase product guidelines for more information.
